How I used to view romantic relationships and how I view them now
I used to view my current romantic relationship like a business - a partnership where expectations, said or unsaid, were met.
But I know a romantic relationship that is too business-like can tempt a person to leave the relationship permanently when you aren't getting what you want from the other person when you want it. I dumped my boyfriend in the past for this reason, but I came back to him because I wanted a relationship. I also knew we had potential to work out long-term.
I believe a relationship needs to be treated like a business. You need to have goals. You need to have vision. You need strategies to get your needs and expectations met. But business alone isn't enough. It can lack the romance.
But love alone isn't enough either.
I think you need to see being in a romantic partnership as a business and loving entity.
As a business and loving entity, I believe you can make your relationship go the distance.
