Why I don't believe in 100% transparency

Early in my relationship, I told my boyfriend that I was with him for business purposes and not for love. Because of this and another scenario between us, I don't believe in 100% transparency. It can break up a relationship permanently or it can just be downright hurtful to the partner. 

Thinking back, I would have liked to have said what I meant by business purposes because he thought I meant something I didn't mean. I just didn't know how to communicate that. 

I believe being transparent to your partner is important, but you need to be sensitive to your partner, you need to be clear as not to be misunderstood, and you need to be considerate in the timing of it. That's transparency at its finest.
